IACMI Accepting Idea Papers
for New Resource Pool Project

Beginning today, January 9, 2025, IACMI will be accepting idea paper proposals to fund precompetitive technical projects up to $50,000 that advance, utilize, or demonstrate emerging technologies and that have the potential to attract higher levels of follow-on funding. Only idea papers submitted by active IACMI member(s) or an IACMI Working Group are eligible.

 

The deadline to submit idea papers for this project cycle is January 31, 2025.

Our monthly webinar series “Innovation Insights” continues in 2025 on Monday, January 13.  Celebrating our 10th anniversary throughout the year, IACMI member Joe Fox will be digging into the details of our achievements and impact over a decade in this presentation. The Vanderbilt University team will present a probabilistic digital twin methodology for layer-by-layer quality control in additive manufacturing.

The new space, including a 44,000-sq-ft cutting-edge composites laboratory, will be a central hub for advanced composites and manufacturing, offering members and industry leaders access to top-tier research and collaboration spaces. The Open House is a unique opportunity for members to explore this new space, connect with industry peers, and learn more about how Innovation South will support your goals. The Open House takes place from 2:00 to 4:00 pm EST, and guests are welcome to drop by at any time during these hours.

DOE Announces $20 Million to Improve the Recycling of Wind Energy Technologies

 

DOE’s Wind Energy Technologies Office has announced the $20 million Wind Turbine Technology Recycling Funding Opportunity, supported by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. This initiative aims to advance recycling solutions for wind energy materials, including fiber-reinforced composites in turbine blades. Proposals are due February 11, 2025.
