Join us in Dayton, Ohio, June 24-26, for the IACMI 2025 Members Meeting! We have an exciting agenda for “A Decade of Innovation: IACMI's Impact” including three featured speakers.

 

Lou Hrkman, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy within the U.S. Department of Energy

Hrkman oversees a $3.2 billion budget focused on the research, development, validation, and effective utilization of renewable energy and efficiency technologies that improve the affordability, reliability, resiliency, and security of the American energy system.

 

Jennifer Fielding, Chief of Ceramics Branch at Air Force Research Laboratory within the U.S. Department of Defense

Fielding leads a team of over 70 scientists and engineers performing research and development on materials discovery, processing improvement, and performance understanding of ceramics and ceramic matrix composites. 

 

Mike Molnar, Director of the Office of Advanced Manufacturing in the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST)

Molnar is the founding director of the Advanced Manufacturing National Program Office, the interagency team responsible for the Manufacturing USA program, and will be speaking on ten years of bridging the innovation gap in American manufacturing.

Can We Apply Smart Manufacturing to Composites?

May 21: 2:00-5:00 pm Room 120

Digital Twins, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Industry 4.0 are all tools that can be combined to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality. This session led by IACMI will feature real time successes with composites using some of these tools and will seek industry input to identify priority translational research and demonstrations needed to overcome barriers to Smart Manufacturing implementation.

 

My IACMI Impact Story: Lightning Talks

Submit Your Resource Pool Project

 

IACMI is accepting proposals from members for the next round of Resource Pool Projects. These are technical projects up to $50,000 that advance, utilize, or demonstrate emerging technologies that have the potential to attract higher levels of follow-on-funding. Submissions will be accepted through May 23.

Workforce Programs Featured on Tool or Die Podcast

 

IACMI’s Justin Brooks, Greg Harrell, and David Roberson joined the podcast Tool or Die to chat about workforce shortages in skilled labor, including machining, casting and forging. They discussed the critical need to bridge the gap between education and skilled industrial jobs and how IACMI is helping the Department of Defense scale up workforce training programs nationwide.
